I am working on a new book to provide teachers with the ideas and resources they need to create energetic, engaging, and relevant music appreciation courses.
As I’m writing, it looks like there will be two main sections:
- Philosophy. I believe that a good portion of teaching a course like Music Appreciation is having a grounded philosophy on what the course means and what you want your students to get out of it. By reading the chapters in this portion of the book, you’ll be in a position to view both the course and curricular design process differently.
- Unit Ideas. The second half of the book will include unit ideas for use in the classroom. Each chapter will demonstrate how the units were designed in an effort to help teachers feel more comfortable creating their own units.
If you’re interested, leave your email in the form on the sidebar. (If, for some reason, you can’t see it, then click HERE.) You’ll be one of the first to know when the book is available! Also, don’t forget that I am available to help you or your school develop interesting classes and units. Contact me for more information!
